Divinity Associates AGM

Trinity College Divinity Associates Executive invite you to join in an informative AGM that will provide a fulsome update on the Faculty, and the activities of the Associates and Alumni as we look forward to a new year. This year the AGM will be followed by short presentations from current and recent advanced degree students with a Q&A. It is a great time to get a snapshot of everything about the Trinity College Faculty of Divinity community!

Student Presenters

Bohdan Hladio MTS ‘21 is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Trinity.  His research concerns the concept of autocephaly or church independence in the context of Eastern Orthodox ecclesiology.  His doctoral research relates to the self-declared “autocephaly” of the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church of Canada and how this unique ecclesiological model could potentially serve as a paradigm for Eastern Orthodox Church organization in a globalized world.  

Samuel Lau is a Ph.D. candidate at Trinity College, where he is studying the relationship between theology and human cultural diversity. In his research, Samuel is exploring the contribution of Maximus the Confessor  to a Christological theological anthropology that can help address concerns concerning race, ethnicity, and cultural diversity.

Rebekah Stretch MA ‘25 graduated from Trinity College with a project exploring the contrasting trench Christologies of chaplains from the British Empire on the Western Front of WWI. This project, supervised by Dr. Christopher Brittain, involved intensive archival research and resulted in a paper that grappled with questions of theodicy, theologies of conflict, and the passibility of God. She hopes to begin her PhD in 2027.
